The History

Bramasole, which means "yearning for the sun" in Italian, is the home of architect Robin McIntosh, his wife Melanie, and their two children.

During 2005 the McIntosh family relocated from Polokwane to Gauteng, as Robin had several large projects in the Johannesburg area. The family lasted for 3 months and decided that Gauteng was not for them. It was decided to return to Limpopo, to Magoebaskloof, to a property that had been the family's weekend getaway.

Thabo Mahlaka

Draughtsman

Our draughtsmen are fully computer literate in various software packages such as Autocad, Autodesk & Revit.

Our one draughtsman is quite a success story – Thabo Mahlaka arrived at Bramasole during January 2007 to start his apprenticeship as a bricklayer on one of the building projects, which was in process at Bramasole. He quickly showed a keen interest in the draughting work that was being done on computer by the draughting office. Soon he was sitting in when one of the draughtsman did work at night and started learning how to use a computer, then later the actual draughting programme.

In July 2007 he was given his first project, the renovation of an existing house – he drew up the plans and built a 3D model of the house on computer. He was officially appointed as junior draughtsman on the 1st of August 2007 and has since improved his computer skills and draughting abilities in leaps and bounds to such an extent that he is able to fully document a new project.
